This may seem weird for me to say, seeing as I’m getting married in November and will have a rehearsal dinner, but it’s more related to my job. I’m a valet, and I hate rehearsal dinners. We probably parked 18 cars for a rehearsal dinner tonight. One guy came in an hour early for it, another rushed from his day job to help out with this early crowd.
Of the 18 cars we parked, 9 left absolutely no tip. This is not abnormal. Weddings and rehearsal dinners always have a lot of people that just don’t leave a tip. What’s up with this? Come on people, you came to a really nice restaurant, pulled up to the door, had your car parked for you… and nothing? Because you are in the wedding party? Get screwed.
Just tip the valets, they are working for your benefit.
